  3. In light of the recent news of the passing of George Butler (1944 - 2021) I thought it would be nice to post an article from Muscle & Fitness dated back in March, 2017, written by the late Shawn Perine (1966 - 2017). ~ Strength Oldschool An Interview with director George Butler (pictured below back in 2004), the man responsible for making bodybuilding a cultural mainstay that has inspired a younger generation of lifters. It's hard to overstate the impact of director George Butler's 1977 documentary "Pumping Iron", not just on bodybuilding, but on society. For one thin
  4. Really interesting info from bodybuilding legend, Mike Mentzer. Full Mike Mentzer Interview on John Little's Youtube channel. Do you think the statement made by Mike Mentzer is true?
  5. On October 23, two Australian Arm Wrestling champions come head to head for the overall No.1 spot. Ryan Bowen vs Lachlan Adair. Check out these promotion videos... Who do you want to win and who do you think will win?
  6. I'm sure every website under the sun has now posted the 2021 Mr Olympia results and just in case you didn't know, here they are: *** Placings *** 1. Mamdouh Elssbiay (Big Ramy) ($400,000 Prize money) 2. Brandon Curry 3. Hadi Choopan 4. Hunter Labrada 5. Nick Walker In my opinion Big Ramy was not dominate and should have finished second with Brandon Curry winning. Big Ramy's abs also looked weird which the commentators picked up on. You can see from the photo above the big split between his abs which hasn't been there before. I believe Ramy tipped the scales
  7. These two photos were taken at this years (2021) Mr Olympia contest. I noticed that both bodybuilders striked a very similar pose and thought...That would make a good comparison! But who wins... Nick Walker who finished 5th in the Open division or Chris Bumstead who won the Classic Physique Division?

  18. I was watching the Weightlifting on the BBC there and one of the presenters stated that Weightlifting may be removed from the Olympic Games due to Doping Scandals in the lead up to the 2020 Games. Several countries were banned from competing because of the doping issues. (above): 2020 Olympic Weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze (mens +109kg Winner) It's crazy to think that such an important and popular event at the Olympic Games may be cancelled given the history of the sport. Here's an article online describing the problem with Olympic Weightlifting. I'm not really sure whet

  20. I purchased two Plyo boxes from Watson Gym Company about a month ago and they're huge, heavy and take up a lot of space in my house. Given I train in my house livingroom which isn't big, space is an issue and unfortunately the Plyo boxes have become a wasted & very expensive purchase. So I'm looking into getting a custom step up platform attachment for my Power Rack from Rebel Strength (see photo below): At some point I plan to sell my Rubber Hex Dumbbells as I just don't have the space to store the dumbbells in my house, all 1 kg right up to 50 kg!! The problem with s
  21. Article By Keith Wassung The overhead press has always been the premiere shoulder exercise for strength and development. Few exercises are as satisfying as the overhead press. I believe that if you could find a remote, primitive island in the world and left a loaded barbell on the beach in the middle of the night, within a week, the men of the island would be trying to lift it over their heads. The heaviest recorded weight that has been pressed in an overhead manner was 535 lbs by Ken Patera, in the early 1970’s. Patera (photo below), who became famous as a professional wrestler,

  24. The greatest bodybuilder ever (in my opinion) turned 74 today. In his newsletter which Arnold sent out today he stated that his best Bench Press was 525 lbs! Incredible. I wonder if Arnold really did always knew he would become a HUGE star?
