  1. William Smith (March 24, 1933 - July 5, 2021), Action Star Known for His Onscreen Brawls, Dies at 88. William Smith, an actor known for his portrayals of villains and his onscreen movie brawls, died on July 5 in Woodland Hills, Calif. He was 88. Mr. Smith’s wife, Joanne Cervelli Smith, said he died at the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s Country House and Hospital. She did not specify the cause. While Mr. Smith was best known for his roles in action movies like “Any Which Way You Can” (1980), and television shows including “Laredo,” “Rich Man, Poor Man” and “Hawaii Five-O,” the real action came from his off-screen life. He was a polyglot, a bodybuilder, a champion discus thrower and an Air Force pilot during the Korean War, according to his website. Fans can pay their respects to William's wife on their facebook page. If anyone would like to share stories on William, please add your comments. I tried contacting William on facebook over a year ago to ask him about his "strict reverse curl of his own body weight" feat, but unfortunately he never responded.
